Who is Rebecca?
Rebecca is an early career novelist, stand up performer, amateur photographer, knitter, baker and general fan of pottering about from Cork, but living in Wicklow. She has a degree in Drama and English from UCC. Her first book, Blood and Water, is due to be published by Mercier Press in May 2026. She was the winner of the RTE Today Show novel competition in May 2025. She previously had a short story published in an RTE Book Show anthology. She was the recipient of a Faber Academy Scholarship to complete their Finish Your Draft course in 2024. She won the Good Craic Comedy Club new comedy competition in May 2023 in the Harbour Bar, Wicklow. She also completed a Certificate in Digital Media and Design with Munster Technological University in 2022, completing a number of digital media projects in the area of video and photography. Her influences range from Anne Enright to Stephen King, by way of Maeve Binchy. She wants to tell stories that feature the beauty of the natural world filled with ordinary people struggling with and conquering terrible things.
